Description: Royal Worcester Potpourri Vase Dated 1910 Ref. OR-35
Date: Back stamp shows the date as 1910 and the #291 above a H showing it was from the Hadley period. The 19 dots on the mark indicate the date as 1910.
History: Hand painted, Hadley period. James Hadley was born in 1837 and joined Worcester when it was still called Kerr & Binns in  1850.  A very talented artist, especially known for his Roses. James eventually became principal modeller at Royal Worcester as it was now called. In 1875 he left to start his own business. However, his designs and patterns were still used by Royal Worcester.
Marks/Observations: This small superbly painted Hadley's Royal Worcester porcelain potpourri vase is a delightful piece. It is of a globular form with a shallow flared neck and a gilt rim. It is richly hand painted with a red and yellow rose with delicate green foliage amongst an earthy background. On the reverse, there is a similar work with a single yellow rose. Green Hadley's Royal Worcester mark from 1910.
Condition: The vase itself remains in very good condition, however, the lid shows some restoration.
Dimensions: height 13 cm including the lid, 9.2 cm in diameter

Price: R1000.00
