A stunning thematic collection celebrating the 10th World Orchid Conference held in Durban, September 1981. This lot is perfect for collectors of South African flora and botanical art.

This listing includes:

  1. Official First Day Cover (FDC): Cancelled in Durban, 1981-09-11, featuring the full set of four orchid stamps (5c, 15c, 20c, 25c) with the official conference logo cachet.

  2. Mint Never Hinged (MNH) Cylinder Blocks: Three matching sets of the 25c Disa uniflora stamp with Cylinder Numbers (1411-1414, 1399-1402, 1407-1410). These are in pristine condition with original gum.

Botanical Features:

  • Includes the iconic "Pride of Table Mountain" (Disa uniflora), Satyrium coriifolium, and other indigenous South African orchids.

  • Art by the renowned botanical illustrator Jeanette Stead.

Condition: Excellent. The FDC is unaddressed and clean. The stamp blocks are MNH with no toning or hinge marks.
