Ruby Red SPIKE MOSS

(Selaginella erythropus)

Elevate your terrarium, shaded rockery, or indoor plant collection!

This is the stunning Selaginella erythropus (Ruby Red Spike Moss), famous for its dramatic color contrast.

While the top of the lacy, fern-like fronds shows a deep metallic or olive green, the main stems and undersides are a brilliant ruby red. As the foliage mounds and overlaps, it creates an incredible jewel-like carpet. We offer dense, fully established clusters giving you an instantly lush plant rather than a tiny starter plug.

Care:

Thrives in full shade to bright indirect light; avoid all direct afternoon sun. It loves high humidity and requires a consistently moist, well-draining soil mix (never allow it to dry out completely). Perfect for bathrooms, kitchens, closed terrariums, or sheltered garden beds in frost-free regions. It is a slow-growing but incredibly rewarding perennial groundcover.

Shipping:

To ensure safe transit we ship these plants bare-rooted. The delicate root network is insulated with moisture-retaining material, and the mounded foliage is securely locked in reinforced packaging to prevent crushing or snapping during transport.
