Book synopsis:
Rug weaving is a craft which the beginner will find easy to learn and enjoy. In this book the author begins with simple constructions on which to weave rugs, and progresses through every process, leading to the use of a large loom. Throughout the book emphasis has been placed on simple techniques on home-made equipment which makes it invaluable for school and college use as well as for amateurs and occupational therapists. Experiment is encouraged in designing with colour materials and weaves, and techniques other than woven ones are described, including ways of finishing the ends of the completed rug. The author has stressed the creative as well as the practical aspects of the craft and the book is very fully illustrated.
