These binoculars don't need batteries because they use a light sensitive optics system, similar to that of low light cameras, with larger lenses for greater light absorption. As long as there is a light source (the moon, distant city lights, a camp fire...) the binoculars will bring the point of focus to you closer, brighter, in further details and in its natural colors.
