Original Russian Ushanka Hat ( Fur Cap )

Issued to USSR troops since 1940, replacing the Budenovka Helmet during winter months. The Ushanka was either made in sheep skin and wool ( which was cheaper to produce in mass quantities, or in Muskrat Fur, which was used by officers or for ceremonial dress, as in Military Parades )

This Ushanka is of Muskrat Fur , with the ensign of an enlisted troop ( private ). It is in very good condition and has its russian label stiched in the inside. This particular hat was obtained in Bulgaria in 1991, during the collapse of the USSR.
