This large, original, brass helmet plate (Owens 1900) was worn by the 'South African Police' (S.A.P.) for a short period of five years between 1926 and 1931. This heavy, good quality badge ('S' type) is in excellent condition other than a couple of marks on the front (it hasn't been cleaned), with three lugs intact. It measures 10.3cm x 8.2cm.
