Wildlife Society of Southern Africa, the Society’s 50^th Anniversary Medallion Set, Limited to 10 000 Sets Worldwide

In 1976, celebrating its 50th anniversary, the South African Wildlife Society, released the 1^st medallion in July 1976, and the last one of the 24 medallions was released in June 1978.

Only 10,000 Medallions, minted in brilliant proof quality were minted each month.

The set of 24 medallions depicting South African animals, as a tribute to our wildlife heritage. Thus the sets were limited to only 10,000 sets Worldwide.

The Medallion is made of Sterling Silver , (Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by mass of silver and 7.5% by mass of other metals, usually copper. The sterling silver standard has a minimum millesimal fineness of 925.) and Gold plated with 24kt of Gold.

Certified by the Derictor General of the South African Bureu of Standards. 

Each of the 24 Sterling Silver medallions weighs 36.5.

The winning bid  will not only receive the 24 brilliant proof quality 24kt Gold plated, Sterling Silver medallions,  packed in the original wooden box, lined with velvet but also the original letter,  pamphlets and reference album.
