S. Africa: 1895 ZAR Gold 1/2 Pond NGC Certified AU55

History/Background Information: A scarce 1/2 Pond struck for the ZAR in the year 1895. Short lived series issued between 1892 and 1897. Struck to the same specifications as the British Half Sovereign.


Certification: NGC AU55 (Choice About Uncirculated)


Condition Notes: A superb coin in every respect. Quality way above the assigned grade with strong lustre and minimal wear. Very attractively toned and struck on a rich gold planchet.
