S. Africa (Pre Reserve Bank): 1862 Durban Bank Ten Pounds

History/Background Information: 10 Pound issue of the private Durban Bank which first traded as Hartley & Co (as stamped hereon). Issued in 1862 in the bank's first year of operation and numbered 00032. The bank traded until 1877 when it was liquidated. Part of the early pre reserve bank numismatic heritage of South Africa.

Condition Notes: A charming big old note. In fairly good condition considering the age of the note. Paper still firm with no significant damage. Printing undiminshed and all lettering legible. A very rare find.
