Impressive envelope with fine imprint on the flap for the Standard bank of South Africa. Franked by single 2/6 from the 1953 issue for S.Rhodesia. The stamp has had a m/s incriptuion / signature erased & is most probably a fiscally used stamp which has been cleaned. The impression of the removed inscription can be seen across the middle of the stamp crossing the lower part of the portrait. Neatly tied and cancelled by nice sharp strike of the special tour cancellation. Fine strike of the Bulawayo c.d.s alongside Splendid example of local, private philatelic enterprise & (perhaps unwitting) fraudulent re-use of used adhesives.
