This balkie was acquired from Regiment Northern Transvaal who is currently the only SANDF Unit which has permission to wear beret balkies in their Company Lines. They had the balkies (1st and 2nd type) officially made through the proper channels a few years ago. The item may thus be classified as a re-strike although it is an official unit item.
