SA Army Parabat issue Camillus 1979 issue Piliots survival knife - good used condition

Here we have on auction an well used issue knife from Bloemfontein -  a US made Pilots (Camillus) survival knife dd 1979 which were issued to the SA Para Battalion members during the border-war.

Some of these knives made it to 32 Battalion and even the Recces during that conflict.

These are relatively scarce to source in SA as they are returnable items upon termination of service.

This knife is in great used condition and the blade is still smooth (no damage or chips) and the tip is intact.

The leather sheath is showing its age but is intact and the leather is still supple. The original sharpening stone is damaged and only a small piece is still present.

The leather (discs) handle is still tight and only slightly loose - I am sure that it will tighten up once the new owner treats the leather with care!
