This medal of JAN VAN RIEBEECK was minted in Sterling Silver (92.5% pure silver), weighs 15 grams and is 35 mm in diameter.

On the rims of the medallions are inscribed the hallmarks of the South African Historical Mint, the SABS and precious metal purity.

It formed part of a set of 24 medallions depicting Pioneers of Southern Africa
