SADF 11 Commando / Danie Theron Combat School Pocket Flash (Metal)

Short Description

SADF metal pocket flash associated with 11 Commando or Danie Theron Combat School (SA Army Intelligence School). Collectable South African military insignia.

Full Description

This item is a SADF-era metal pocket flash linked to either 11 Commando or the Danie Theron Combat School (also known as the SA Army Intelligence School). During the SADF period, several units used similar shield-shaped metal flashes, and this pattern is most commonly associated with these two formations.

11 Commando was a light infantry training and area protection unit, while the Danie Theron Combat School served as a training centre for reconnaissance, intelligence, tracking and specialised combat skills. Both units played roles in the broader training and operational structure of the SADF.

Metal pocket flashes like this were carried on the uniform or worn unofficially by members as unit identifiers and pride items, and today they are sought after in SADF insignia collections.
