Here on auction we have a scarce and not often seen in this condition and/ or size SADF era pair of size 9 (rare in itself to get this size) issued genuine early SADF leather soled "dri-foot" double-buckle combat boots.
Please look at the photos and compare (if you have) the layout of the leather panels and the soles and stitching etc to the std SADF era boots - these also have the double -buckle at the top collar very simialr to early Rhodesian issued boots and these would/ could very easy be used as stand-in Rhodesian boots for re-enactors and or collectors!
Made in the "old way" with a genuine leather sole! You won't find these easy again esp NOT in this condition!
PLEASE note the the previous owner has cut-off a portion of the boots' tongue (the piece that would normally go up under the closed double buckle part - probably due to excess heat build-up when wearing these in the African bush!
Confirmed size 9 UK boots. Both the tabs on both double-buckle flaps are still intact and good-to-go - no damage or missing bits!
I found this pic after a lot of searching and I believe it to show the same SADF boots being worn by a member of the "Philistines" 44 Para Pathfinders during the early days in the SWA/ Angola bushwar;
