Founded in South Africa in 1989 by Eeben Barlow, Executive Outcomes became well-known for its involvement in the Angolan Civil War and the Sierra Leone Civil War. They provided specialized training and direct military support to governments, often using former members of South Africa's elite Special Forces (the "Recces").
