These Units operated during the South African Bush War 1966 - 1989
1 SAI, 2 SAI, 3 SAI, 4 SAI, 5 SAI, 6 SAI, 7 SAI, 8 SAI, 1 SACC, 2 SACC, Equestrian, Dog Unit , Infantry School, Army HQ (Headquarters) and the State President's Guard (two versions)
The SAI "Bokkop" beret badge is illustrated to the right of the SADF Infantryman illustration running into action with an R4 assault rifle. the Bokkop was mofied with the two horns touching as it was tradition in those days.
Underneath the caption is the 7.62 mm R1 rifle based on the FN made in Belgium
