The ribbon bar has :

A Pro Patria ribbon awarded to members of the SADF for service in an operational area.

A General Service ribbon awarded to members of the SADF for operational service inside South Africa in the prevention or suppression of terrorism or internal disorder, or the preservation if life, health or property, or the maintenance of essential services and law and order, or crime prevention.

A Good Service Silver ribbon awarded for 20 years of good service.

A Good Service Bronze ribbon awarded for 10 years of good service.

The ribbon bar measures 13 cm in length.
