Original Regiment Langenhoven cap badge featuring the motto Slaggereed (Slag Gereed). South African reserve infantry unit.
This listing is for an original Regiment Langenhoven cap badge from the South African Army. The regiment, headquartered in Oudtshoorn, began in 1934 as Regiment South Western Districts and was renamed in honour of the well-known South African poet C.J. Langenhoven.
This cap badge pattern was used from 1964 onwards. The scroll displays the regimental motto SLAGGEREED (also written as Slag Gereed), meaning Ready for Battle. Items from this era are well-recognised by collectors of SADF reserve units and Southern Cape military history.
A solid addition for collectors focusing on SADF infantry, regional regiments, or post-1960 South African insignia.
