Original SADF South African Indian Corps cloth shoulder title patch.
This item is an original South African Defence Force shoulder title patch for the South African Indian Corps (SA Ind Corps). Often referred to locally as a tupper, the patch features the embroidered text SA IND CORPS in blue thread on a white or light-coloured cloth background.
The SA Indian Corps formed part of the SADFs Non-European services during the Apartheid era. While the Indian Service Corps existed briefly during 19401942, the South African Indian Corps was formally established from 1975 and remained in use into the 1990s, primarily as a training battalion or unit.
