This item is a South African Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) or Bomb Disposal cloth badge, worn on operational and utility uniforms such as the nutria combat dress of the SADF era.
It served as a qualification badge for personnel who completed the demanding explosive ordnance disposal training within the Navy. These badges were also occasionally worn by attached Special Forces operators, such as Reconnaissance Commandos who qualified on the course.
