 201 Battalion SWATF (based at Omega on the SWA/Angola border) became 31 Battalion SADF (based at Smidtsdrift in the Northern Cape) in 1989 - after South Africa withdrew its forces from what is now Namibia. These people were/are undoubtedly the best trackers in the world;
