WW2 / SADF Medal group to Major T.J. L. Van Wyk
Medal group consists of 1939 Star / Africa Star with 8th Army clasp / British War medal / War Medal and Africa Service medal - all confirmed in his records.
SADF medals are CSADF Commendation medal - citation in his records, John Chard medal - general orders confirm the number as well 1801, Pro Patria with Cunene clasp - also confirmed in his records with the service dates.
Major van Wyk was a qualified pilot - His records show he flew for 104 SAAF squadron - his records confirm his Pilot qualifications as well as at the time his total flying hours.
He was also attached to 72 Mot Brigade.
I have a picture of the gentleman as well - will also send to the successful bidder.
He is academically qualified as an Accountant - his records confirm his accounting degree and Diploma (Cost Accounting).
He was recommended for the John Chard decoration - however it seems someone messed up with his service dates as they applied at the same time for his John Chard medal..
