Sailing Ship "France II" Collector Plate
Design: Depicts the majestic "France II," the largest sailing ship ever built, constructed by Chantiers & Ateliers de la Gironde in Bordeaux in 1911. The five-masted barque, weighing 5,633 tons, was known for its significant sheer towards the bows. With a crew of 50, she was employed in the nickel ore trade from New Caledonia, equipped with state-of-the-art labor-saving devices, including electric lighting, generators, wireless, and oil engines with twin screws.
