Sandy Chaitowitz is a well-known and established South African
fine artist
I have an obsession and passion for capturing light in my paintings, to see beyond the obvious.  They are also an emotional journey exploring changing nature and the interplay of colour, movement and light.

Sandy spent her formative years in Zimbabwe and from an early age was drawing and painting. After leaving High School,she attended the Johannesburg College of Art and then returned to Zimbabwe where although pursuing a career in the film industry,she continued with her art,expanding her craft, exhibiting sculpture and paintings,as well as teaching.
She returned to South Africa in the early 70s, freelancing in the film industry,but always painting. She began teaching adults and children in the 80s and painting full time,exhibiting work with well known artists,Thijs Nel,Lionel Abrahams,Nick van Rensburg,Hannes Haars amongst others,in group showings as well as solo exhibitions every year,until migrating to the Western Cape 10 years ago. Whilst living in Cape Town,she exhibited in several group exhibitions.
Sandy has paintings and sculptures in many private collections world wide as well as in some corporate collections.
