Alf Herbst served in the Rhodesian Corps of Engineers. This collection includes photographs and reminiscences collected from fellow Sappers, as well as photographs from his own collection and from the internet, accompanied by brief descriptions.
They are recollections of young men who went to war. A collection of short stories and photos of what they went through, sad and sometimes funny. Treasured memories passed on to me by former Sappers from all over the world. The reader will be taken back to a long forgotten war in a long forgotten country however, former Rhodesian Corps of Engineers Sappers will be taken back to times forgotten by many but not by those who served in the Corps.
