One thing that we love to do is to develop solutions to common problems. The pesky Lima cowcatcher is one of those problems. Many of us like to fit Kadee couplers to all our models and doing so using a Lima 5E is quite a challenge. Once you've lopped the coupler arms off the bogies you are left having to make the old cowcatchers fit. This is normally done with M2.5 bolts and a couple of nuts to act as height guides. That lot makes for a nasty solution as far as we are concerned.
We've come up with a drop in solution that simply requires you to drill two holes (for the coupler screws). The cowcatcher has flanges at the top to position itself correctly against the chassis and also has a lip in the front to force the chassis to be at the correct height in relation to the body (Lima 5E chassis have little tags to do this but they tend to break off)
