Luminous Satin Spar Sphere - Your Gateway to Serenity
This luminous white sphere showcases the ethereal beauty of satin spar with its characteristic silky, fibrous texture and gentle translucency. At approximately 75mm in diameter, this perfectly polished orb captures and diffuses light beautifully, creating a soft, pearlescent glow that seems to emanate from within.
Satin Spar is a fibrous variety of gypsum (calcium sulfate dihydrate) that forms through the slow evaporation of mineral-rich water in sedimentary environments. Unlike other gypsum varieties, satin spar develops its distinctive silky luster from parallel crystal fibers that grow in bundles. These microscopic fibers create the stone's characteristic chatoyancy - a shimmering optical effect that resembles flowing silk or satin, hence its name. The formation process can take thousands of years as groundwater deposits thin layers of gypsum in caves, underground chambers, or dried lake beds.
Often called "Satin Spar Selenite," this mineral is highly valued in crystal healing and spiritual practices. Practitioners believe satin spar promotes mental clarity, spiritual connection, and energetic cleansing. It's traditionally associated with the crown chakra and is thought to facilitate meditation, enhance intuition, and create a peaceful atmosphere. Many use satin spar spheres as focal points for meditation or as decorative pieces that are believed to cleanse the energy of surrounding spaces.
Note: Handle with care as satin spar is relatively soft and can be scratched easily. Avoid exposure to water as it may cause dissolution.
