SATSUMA TEA COFFEE SET

LARGE TEAPOT = SET of 8 DUO'S = MILK JUG (CREAMER) = LIDDED SUGAR BOWL

Shimazu Clan = Satsuma = Domain Japan = Mon = Hyūga Province.

The decoration is of  Kannon  with two  rakans  on each side of her. Displayed above the figures is the cross in circle  mon  of the  Shimazu  family crest. This type of wares made heavy use of moriage or raised enamels and "geisha girl" lithophane. 

!!!!! SCARCE !!!!! STUNNING !!!!!

  TEAPOT = good condition = spout to handle 175mm x 105mm widest x 160mm height to finial.  
  8 Cups (demitasse?) = good condition = 75mm rim to handle x 56mm  rim diameter  x 55mm high. 
 
8 Saucers = good condition = 111mm diameter x 14mm deep.
 
Milk Jug = good condition = bulb to handle 115mm x 100mm high to spout.
 
Lidded Sugar Bowl = good condition = 140mm diameter handle to handle x 110mm high to finial.
 
Overall = There is very light gilt wear on handles and in a few places on some of the pieces. Some crazing throughout. No other damage noted. Dimensions are approximate.
