Scandinavian Danish studio pottery vase by Edith Nielsen 1950`s

Offered for sale is a collectible small Midcentury Modern Danish post vase designed by Edith Nielsen for the manufactory Zeuthen Ceramics. This item dates to the 1950's. The vase is hand made and decorated. It is a small toggle shaped posy vase made from a bisque fired chocolate brown earthenware which has a matte finish. The vase is decorated with an eye catching high contrast motif of blade or leaf shaped lozenges which are hand painted onto the sides of the vase in alternating black and white high gloss enamels. The interior of the vase and the base are glazed in a white slip. The vase is signed on the bas ewith the artist name Edith and  Danmark ie Denmark.
