Scandinavian studio glass vase design by Tamara Aladin for Riihimaen Lasi Finland 1970's

Offered for sale is a stylish and collectible studio glass vase by highly rated designer Tamara Aladin for the Finnish glass making company Riihimaen Lasi Oy. This vase is typical of her sophisticated modernist designs with elegant clean lines and subtle semi opaque coloured bodies which perfectly compliment the shapes. This vase is  made from a smokey grey glass cased in clear  glass; it is  mould blown , delicate and thin walled with crisp definition and a heavy clear glass base . This is shape number 1373 from the Riihimaen Glass catalogue. The company traded  from 1910 until 1990 however the art glass division ceased production in 1976.

The vase is in good condition  and perfectly functional for displaying appropriately long stemmed and elegant blooms especially lilies, irises  or tulips or enjoying  unadorned as a sculptural glass object .
