Note to the buyer
Based on the high-resolution photos, here is my assessment of the condition and grading which is subjective and this is my opinion and based on my visual evidence Please note that "grading" was not done by any professional organisation or person but solely by my references to catalogues and other information. While I strive for accuracy, I cannot guarantee that all details and information are 100% correct.
Purchase decisions are made entirely at the buyers discretion.
Suggested Grade: VF
In the coin world, this is a solid "circulated but attractive" grade. Here is why:
Obverse (Heads):
The portrait of the young Queen Wilhelmina is well-defined. The legend "WILHELMINA KONINGIN DER NEDERLANDEN" is fully legible and sharp. While there is wear on the "high points" (the hair just above the ear and the temple), the individual strands of her flowing hair are still clearly visible. A lower grade (Fine) would show these areas as a flat "blob" of silver; your coin still retains that delicate texture.
Reverse (Tails):
This side is actually slightly stronger, bordering on VF-Choice. The oak wreath has clear veins in the leaves, and the bow at the bottom of the wreath is distinct. The date "1894" and "10 CENTS" are very crisp with no significant bruising.
Overall Eye Appeal:
The coin has a natural, dark "circulated" patina with some spotting/toning. There are no major scratches deep gouges, heavy cleaning or "rim dings" visible, which often plague coins of this age.
Authenticity:
I guarantee this coin to be authentic.
