Dr Hermann Theodor Wangemanns sketches were made during two mission journeys (1866-1867 & 1884-1885) to South Africa.  Wangemann's drawings of two mission journeys to South Africa / Zeichnungen von den beiden Missionreisen in Sudafrika, Publ. National Museum Pretoria 1992, museum catalogue, large format, illustrated. The Wangemann drawings are of considerable cultural historical interest and have been of great value to researchers. Dr Wangemann sketched each station in detail and drew the topography of the area in which the missionaries settled. He also made sketches of the towns and the indigenous villages. All sites were meticulously described and dated.
