This early, scarce, hard covered book with dust cover, is signed by the author and numbered '807', in a limited edition of only 1000 signed copies. Titled 'First City - A Saga of Service' by 'Reginald Griffiths' it consists of 292 pages. It covers the Eight Frontier wars that raged from 1835 to 1853 in the Eastern Cape, from the point of view of the settlers and a history of services rendered by the men of Grahamstown and Queenstown of the First City Regiment. The book has some minor foxing in the front and back and is tanned along the page edges, otherwise it's in great condition and the dust cover is faded in places, with marks. The book measures 23,5cm x 17cm.
