Here on auction we have a scarce SADF era pattern 80 "green" nylon Medium sized utility pouch in very good used condition.

This pouch is sized to accomadate SADF issue 2lt water bottles (square type). This patt 80 pouch does not have ALICE clips BUT rather fitted belt loops as preffered by the SF users.

Part of the reason for the popularity of these pouches amongst S A SF user was that when set-up in a belt kit these pouchescould resemble to a degree the similar encountered Russian style belt pouches often found and used by the insurgents and hence they provided a small tactical advantage to the user if one was spotted during behind-the-lines operations (eg. false flag, CTRs and or psuedo ops) - maybe causing doubt or confusion at a distance and gaining valuable seconds to get the upper hand in a contact situation or when stumbled upon in the bush!

This pouch closes using the turn-button clips (see pics) - silent openeing and closing.

These "olive green" pattern 80 style kit pouches was made and issued SA SF (Recce's) in the early 1980's as a belt-kit item webbing and was largely used esp when operating in the bush in SWA/ Angola on extended patrols.

Pattern 80 pouches in any condition are pretty scarce - includes two US style ALICE clips in great condition, no damage.
