Scarce Victorian 'The Metropolitan' Whistle (J. Hudson 131 Barr St.)
This scarce, Victorian, heavy white metal on brass police whistle from the late 1800's, is stamped on the side 'THE METROPOLTAN, PATENT' and 'J. HUDSON & CO, 131 BARR ST, BIRMINGHAM'. This address dates this whistle between 1885 and 1887, as it was only used for a short period of three years and other than an early repair around the top it's in good condition, has a nice weight and works well. It measures 8cm in length.
