Very scarce Bren Mk1 Combination tool, used to strip and clean the Bren gun, Issued with the Bren LMG until it was replaced by the Mk2 simplified tool and seperate defouling tool. The Mk1 tool was relegated to armourers as it was complicated and expensive to produce and many of the tools on it were of no use to a Bren gun team.

The Combination Tool incorporates a small copper hammer (with screw out head), wrench, gas port adjuster and four sizes of screwdrivers. The tool was found in the spare parts wallet. This example is marked "1939 K.D." with light War Department crow foot / broad arrow. One screw driver point looks damaged, otherwise in a good condition.
