Scarcer 1954 S.A union proof 50% silver 5 Shillings graded SS62 (Special Select) by the SANGS.Mintage of only 3890.Very nice coin.


What is a Special Select coin?


At other grading companies like the NGC they call these coins proof like (PL).The reason why the SANGS call them Special Select is because the Mint sold them under this name.These coins were minted for the collectors market and not for circulation.
