Scarcer 1987 Gold Reef City Mint ZAR Kruger commemorative proof Aluminium token set in case (animals).Laidlaw no. 0653. Includes x11 proof tokens: a 1 pond,1/2 pond,5 Shillings,2 1/2 Shillings,2 Shillings,shilling,sixpence,threepence,a penny, 1/2 penny and 1/4 penny.Please note the case shows some age related wear and tear which is quite common for these cases.

Edge:

Upright reeded: Pond, ½ Pond, 5 Shillings, 2 ½ Shillings, 2 Shillings, Shilling & 6 Pence.
Plain: 3 Pence, Penny, ½ Penny & ¼ Penny.

Obverse:

Within a beaded border round the rim, bust of Paul Kruger, three quarters left. Signed: GR on truncation.

Reverse:

Within a beaded border round the rim, Legend above in ornate letters: "Gold Reef City" and below denomination and date between stars, position varies. In the centre, image of an animal:
