SCHATZ ELEXACTA ELECTROMAGNETIC PENDULUM WALL-CLOCK
The clock is missing its pendulum, otherwise the clock is in all-round good condition and the pendulum arm swings with a D battery
These clocks were produced in Germany by Jahresuhrenfabrik August Schatz & Sohne
The clocks date from between 1955 to early 1960s – a collectable vintage piece
The clock is in super all-round condition set in a wood square, and embellished with brass detail
The clock has its original bracket, designed to enable space for the movement between the clock and wall
The clock is missing its compound pendulum which it requires for its electromagnetic functionality and time keeping
The pendulum arm is shown in motion and fully functional – operating on power of the D battery
The electromagnetic function
These clocks have a pendulum with two bearing pivots that fit into bearing cups of the movement
This section of the movement provides electromagnetic impulses and with the counter-pendulum hanging beneath the clock, its time is regulated
See this example
This makes a fine piece for the collector’s collection or for its mere display value
Perhaps a suitable pendulum may make it fit for timekeeping
