HERMAN SCHOLTEMEIJER - DIE BALLING OOR DIE SEE: UITDIE DAGBOEK VAN 'N KRYGSGEVANGENE. Very scarce Boer POW book. Published by Nasionale Pers, Bloemfontein, in 1949, First Edition. Herman Scholtemeijer wasinterned at Deadwood Camp, St Helena from 12 September 1900 to 22 November 1902. Scholtemeijer arrived in South Africa as a teacher from Holland and was taken prisoner under false pretences in the Rustenberg district where he taught at Zandfontein. Hardcover, dust jacket, excellent condition. 13 x 19 cm, 88 pages.
