Herman Scholtemeijer wasinterned at Deadwood Camp, St Helena from 12 September 1900 to 22 November 1902. Scholtemeijer arrived in South Africa as a teacher from Holland and was taken prisoner under false pretences in the Rustenberg district where he taught at Zandfontein.
