The Schoonhoven pottery in Gouda first produced these art deco designs in 1929. They are not easy to find since people stopped buying decorative items when the Great Depression began in 1930 and the studio therefore stopped making them. The fact that they use a matte glaze also made them more expensive to produce as they had to be fired, painted and fired again.
This jug/vase has the typical Largo pattern using in yellow, mustard, emerald, turquoise, blue and brown.
Size: 17cm tall
This item has age-related crackling as can be seen in the close-up and a chip on the rim of the base. When the jug is standing upright, it is not noticeable at all.
