Kwagga Robertse owns a farm shop in the fictional South African continent of Nambabwe and usually cons foreign tourists by pretending to kill a lion, thus earning him the nickname 'Urumbo' from the country's natives. Kwagga is angry when the UN peace corps send a platoon of incompetent soldiers called U.N.T.A.G to try stop a 'war', which turns out was never happening but the U.N.T.A.G's keep searching for weaponry to cover up. The U.N.T.A.G's American leader, Maj. Bradick D. Mackay and his sidekick, Capt. Zapman are offered a diamond worth a lot of money in the U.S. and they must pay 200 grand to Doon Robertse, Kwagga's competitive brother trying to buy a farm left to them by their dead father.
