A hand thrown studio pottery vase attributed to a potter named Lockhead working in Kirkcudbright, Scotland, an area long associated with independent studio potters and craft artists. The vase features a pleasing layered glaze in soft blues and warm brown tones over a pale stoneware body, creating a subtle, organic surface that highlights the character of the clay and firing process.

The vase measures approximately 12.2 cm in height with a diameter of about 7 cm. Its gently flared rim and balanced form give it an elegant profile, while the interior is finished with a light glaze that complements the exterior decoration. The base is signed Lockhead along with Kirkcudbright, identifying the potter and place of origin.

It is in good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing to report. A well-made example of small studio pottery that reflects the tradition of handcrafted ceramics produced in Scotland's artist communities
