Scotty Smith bandit, highwayman, cattle thief, IDB, and certainly one of the most enigmatic characters ever known in South Africa. Part rogue, part hero; half villain, the other half all Good Samaritan, nobody could ever make up their minds to love or hate him.  Innumerable tales have been spun around this curious man.  Now F C Metrowich has produced the first definitive biography of Scotty Smith, and the details of the bandit's life provide reading at once astonishing and entertaining.

The author was born in Cookhouse in the Eastern Cape and was a teacher.  He research the life of Scotty Smith to write the book, which also became a motion picture with Joe Stewardson as Scotty Smith.
