At first glance, the GoFlex Desk External Hard Disk Drive is not anything fancy. It looks like your typical 3.5” external hard drive, but a classy one at that.
Seagate’s desktop version of its GoFlex external drive lineup brings all of the unique features that is expected from Seagate. Though Seagate has been synonymous with external hard drives and storage for long, it had often followed a relatively conservative path. The GoFlex range seems to change all of that by promising to keep the EHDs future proof, which has been achieved by making even the ports removable as the drives themselves.
Its continuous automatic back up ensures that the information accessed and saved in the drive is always open for use whether it was obtained from a PC computer or Mac. It is so relative and flexible that it requires no modification between the two computer types. This means that data saved from a PC and that accessed from a Mac can be offered interplay within the same drive without giving rise to formatting problems. The drive automatically converts the transferred data and retains it in its original format before storing it.
One major function of the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Desk drive is to encrypt the files so that no body else other than the owner gains access to the stored multiple files. Due to the high volumes of data that can be stored, the drive can be used to manage large data bases. This works in such a way that the user is given the ability to manage their files through automatic means by virtue of gaining view of all the accessory file information and details like date of creation, modification date, type of application and others.
