Seashell Red abalone shell Natural Haliotis rufescens
It is distributed from British Columbia, Canada, Baja California to Mexico
This red abalone's shell length size is 24 cm. Called Haliotis rufescens, it was described by Swainson, in 1822. This is the largest species of abalone in the world.
The shell is large, thick, dome-shaped, and the colour which is a dull brick red to light orange. The inside of the shell appears polished and is strongly iridescent, a central, prominent muscle scar is easily visible in the shells
