Second World War Lifeboat Emergency Matches in Original Bakelite Waterproof Container.

These matches were manufacture by Bryant & May's in England.

"Bryant & May’s Lifeboat Matches were among specialist products produced in Liverpool to serve the maritime industry. They were specially produced in watertight Bakelite containers to be included in the emergency kit of ships’ lifeboats."

These matches were waterproofed in a round red bakelite container with a black bakelite top.

There are 25 original matches in this container.

The size of the container is 6cm high and 3.8cm in diameter.

This is a very rare item indeed.
