Seiko 6139-6002 "Pogue". "6139" refers to the movement and "6002" to the model. The particular model and colour was made famous by a Col Pogue, an astronaut, who sneaked his watch into his space suit when on a space mission. He was delighted to see that despite weightlessness the watch worked very well.
The 6139 movement is also famous because it became the first automatic chronograph movement together with the Zenith el Primero and the Heuer-Buren cal 11 movements. The 6139 watches were produced in their thousands which is why they can be obtained for a very affordable price despite the high quality column wheel movement. It is very accurate when regulated well. There were issues with the chrono seconds hand not always resetting to "12" and this particular one also often resets to a few seconds past "12".
It has a working inner rotating bezel as the watch was originally marketed as a diver. This particular watch dates back to 1973 according to its serial number.
The watch was serviced by a Swiss watchmaker in Dec 2012. The watch is in very good condition and has a near perfect original bracelet with correct end links. It has an original bezel and insert in good condition. The crystal is a brand new replacement. The dial is original in all respects except that the 5 minute markers were relumed.
